To be a dancer and feel like a dancer, you must dress like a dancer
-Hair is to up and away from your face during class. -Short hair is permitted, but must be kept out of the face. -Please keep the annual performance in mind when dying your hair. Any "crazy colored" hair will have to be styled in a way to hide the color for both pictures and the performance.
Shoe Requirements All shoes available in stock at Dancer's Boutique in Fitchburg, MA
Pointe: Dancers must have properly fitting pointe shoes for class. FYI: Fittings must be scheduled at Dancers Boutique in advance. Students will not be permitted to participate in class without pointe shoes. Ballet: All dancers will wear PINK leather split-sole ballet shoes. Dancers in the Intermediate and Advanced levels require split-sole. This is recognizable on the underside of the ballet shoe, the sole is split into two pieces rather than one. Tap:NO "SHINY" PATENT LEATHER tap shoes. Tiny Ballet/Beginner levels must wear Bloch "Merry Jane" tap shoe in brushed black leather. Students in the Intermediate and Advanced levels are recommended to use slip on leather tap shoes. Jazz: Black slip on jazz oxfords. Modern: Bare feet, socks or nude colored slip on "foot-undeez" are permitted for class. Hip Hop: Hip Hop Sneakers ONLY. No street shoes. All dancers are requied to have studio specific "Pastry" sneakers for the annual performance.
Dancewear Students with improper attire will not be permitted to participate in class
Mini/Petite/Junior Students All dancers must wear a leotard and white, pink, or tan tights to class. In addition, they may wear a skirt, dance shorts, dance pants, and leg warmers. Leotards with attached skirts are permitted. Intermediate/Advanced Students -All dancers must wear tights and a leotard. Any clothing worn over leotard must be form fitting. -Tank tops, sweaters, and sweatshirts may be worn over the leotard during warm-ups and during tap, jazz, and hip hop classes. -Long pants or shorts may be worn over tights, but must be form fitting. No sweatpants or pajamas. -Males students must wear a T-shirt and athletic shorts or form fitting sweatpants with dance shoes.
Pointe Students -All pointe dancers must wear a leotard and tights ONLY. Any color is permitted. Proper dance wear is required and this dress code will be strictly enforced.
