Free Form Instructors and Staff
"I am a dance teacher...I am thankful for the opportunity to pass on my passion for the art of dance" -Rhee Gold
"It is important that every student feels welcomed and their personal essence valued. I pledge to not just always know every student's name, but also their interests, goals, and dreams. I study each dancer, just as they study the beautiful art of dance. No matter where a dancer comes from, extrovert or introvert, beginner or advanced: they will have a place at my studio.".
Kelley Stroup: Creative Director
As owner of Free Form Dance Academy, Kelley continuously strives to create a welcoming environment for all dancers. She believes dance should come from the inside out, and that Free Form must enable the growth of this idea . It is her goal to educate every single dancer with proper dance technique as well as nurture their creative spirit.
She began her dance training at the age of 3 in Camp Hill, PA. For 15 years, she was a student at The Richie School of Dance in Highspire/Lower Paxton, PA. In addition, she was a student at the Capital Area School of the Arts as a dual enrolled high school student in the dance program. She has studied dance at both Smith College and Penn State University. Kelley has extensively trained and competed in Pointe, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Modern dance. As part of several competition teams, performance groups, and professional ballet companies, Kelley has been fortunate to have an extensive performance repertoire.
In the summer of 2009, she was hired by Kathy Roy as the primary instructor of Kathy Roy's School of Dance. Mentoring under Kathy for 5 years gave her the experience and passion for the studio that led to her purchasing the studio in 2014. The studio was rebranded as Free Form Dance Academy in June of 2016.
